Led by dynamic multi-instrumentalist frontwoman Erin Zindle, The Ragbirds create music that is equally danceable, intelligent and vulnerable. This Ann Arbor-based band has been wowing crowds with their genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies, global-infused beats, rock guitar riffs and folk sensibilities since 2005. With a change of cast in 2019, the band is shifting its weight from what used to be a heavier percussive foundation to place the focus more on the melodic components and simpler rhythms, leaving room for the songs to breathe and for the vocals to take on the spotlight. Now equipped with four vocalists, the Ragbirds are diving into the textures they can create with vocal harmonies and exploring the newly-created space with instrumental curiosity, adding more improvisational elements in to the otherwise tight arrangements. The Ragbirds have independently released 5 studio albums and a live record: Yes Nearby (2005), Wanderlove (2007), Finally Almost Ready (2009), Travelin' Machine (2011), We Belong to the Love (2013), and The Threshold & the Hearth (2016).
