Peter Madcat Ruth's C.A.R.Ma. Quartet plays an eclectic blend of traditional and improvisational music. American Roots Music, Blues, Folk Music, Jazz, Rock, and World Music are all part of the mix. The C.A.R.Ma. Quartet is: Peter Madcat Ruth - harmonica, ukulele, jaw-harp, kalimba, and vocals John Churchville - tabla/drum set Brennan Andes - bass Dan Ripke - guitar Peter Madcat Ruth is a virtuoso harmonica player who also sings and plays ukulele, jaw-harp, and kalimba. John Churchville has developed a unique style of tabla drumming mixed with traditional drum set drumming. John was the driving force behind the award winning Indian fusion group, Sumkali. Bass player, Brennan Andes, the founder of The Macpodz, has also performed with a variety of artists including Luke Winslow-King, Roberto Luti, Seth Bernard, May Erlewine, Rootstand, The Ragbirds, Jen Sygit, Chris Good, Dick Siegel, George Bedard, Shigeto, Sumkali, 7 Chakras, Jamie Register, Chris Bathgate, Andy Adamson Quintet, The Tone Farmers, Vincent York, The Pherotones, and many others. Dan Ripke has been a professional musician and educator for nearly 30 years. Dan toured and performed with the rock-bluegrass quintet, Back Forty, for 15 years.
