From deep tribal drums sounds, to soaring strings and vocals, and all the electrifying layers in between, musician and producer Dave Menzo’s psychedelic pop takes you on a sonic journey. His 2015 album, “Shhh…,” was made entirely with instruments he checked out from the Ann Arbor District Library’s Music Tools Collection, including drum machines, analog synthesizers, guitar pedals, vocal processors, microphones, percussion, and various other instruments. The album was mentioned by the New York Times in a feature about libraries becoming creative hubs for individuals. Joined by his full band on special occasions, Menzo is a producer/ multi-instrumentalist/ solo artist, and is also a member of Michigan bands Child Sleep, The Electrocats (with the Verve Pipe's Craig Griffith), and The Groove Party. Also available: Color Wheel (2014), Menzo Shreds (2013), Inverse Moon (2003) and A Taste Of International Honey (2003).
