Micaela Kingslight and Flylite Gemini
With expressive vocals, elegant guitar work and poetic lyricism, Kalamazoo native Micaela Kingslight has made her home in Port Townsend, Washington, after years of leading bands and touring around the US. She now performs with her own original music trio and regional groups, including local favorite Strong Sun Moon. Her performances come in many formats, acoustic or electric, heartwarming folk presentations with guitar and voice, as well as "groovy, bluesy, indie-soul-rock" driven by a full ensemble.
Her catalog of songs is both varied and extensive after years as a songwriter, solo performer, bandleader, band member, and teacher. Micaela teaches at at Crossroads Music, Port Townsend’s music store, where she offers instruction in guitar, bass, ukulele, Celtic harp, and mandolin. Album available: Still (2009).
