A Petoskey-born Northern Michigander, Sean Miller grew up surrounded by music and remembers banging on a piano until his parents had him take up lessons. Miller spent most of his youth playing piano and percussion and travelled the Midwest in multiple high school and college performing groups and ensembles with performing at Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) and the Society of Ethnomusicology (SEM) as some of his larger achievements. Miller first picked up the guitar — his main instrument — at the age of 16 and taught himself to play with influences ranging from Gregory Alan Isakov to Tom Petty and John Mayer to Dave Matthews. Now, having performed across the state of Michigan with his band, The Real Ingredients, and across the midwest as a solo act, his bedroom dreams have turned into a budding professional music career. Within the last few years, Miller has also had main and second stage performances at a number of festivals including FarmFest and PondJam while also appearing at Blissfest, HippieFest, Festival on the Bay, Earthwork Harvest Gathering, the Water is Life Festival, the Great Indoor Folk Fest and more. As a solo artist he has also recorded a song with Katie Larson of The Accidentals and opened for other Michigan acts including A Brighter Bloom, Brotha James, Seth Bernard and more. His new album, Everywhere I Roam, is out now and available wherever music is found on the interwebs.
